Workshops

I offer a range of activities and workshops for primary and junior schools, libraries and other centres. These can be tailored to the needs of the group, so if you have any specific requests or ideas we can discuss these beforehand and I can incorporate them into the sessions. I am qualified to degree level and am a qualified further education teacher, specialising in Literacy.

For Key Stage 1

Workshops involve an introduction to me and my writing, readings of the Ruby and Grub books where the children can take part with Puppy Puppets, and lots of fun, interactive activities based around the books, including making Puppy Puppets and Grub Ears!

For Key Stage 2

Workshops involve an introduction to me and my writing, with opportunity for the children to ask questions. There’ll be a couple of readings from ‘Buttercup Magic: A Mystery for Megan, and activities including writing a letter to Buttercup, drawing a Pungle, designing a winter coat for Buttercup and deciding what you would take with you into your treehouse, just like Megan does in ‘A Mystery for Megan’. Key Stage 2 children can also take part in writing workshops using my story-writing frame and images to inspire ideas.

Fees

My fees are £150 for a morning or afternoon’s workshop and £200 for a full day. I charge £100 for readings and short talks.

If you would like me to visit your school, pre-school, library or centre to give a talk or do a workshop, reading, or a bit of both, please contact me.
